Abstract

<p>Prepared foods have gained significant popularity as convenient meal options, encompassing semi-processed or fully processed food materials stored in frozen or vacuum packaging. Originating in China in the 1980s and 1990s, the prepared foods industry has witnessed substantial growth, particularly in the early 21st century. This growth trajectory has accelerated since 2010, with an influx of enterprises specializing in prepared foods production and related industries. As of December 29, 2022, China boasts a staggering 75,900 prepared foods-related enterprises, indicative of the sector's robust expansion. This paper delves into the evolution and dynamics of China's prepared foods industry, analyzing its emergence, growth drivers, market trends, and future prospects.</p>
