Abstract

<p>The presence of air gap eccentricity flaws in generators, stemming from production constraints and assembly inaccuracies, poses significant challenges to their operational reliability. Such flaws can lead to distortions in the magnetic field, altering the air gap magnetic flux density, amplifying imbalanced magnetic forces exerted on stator and rotor windings, and ultimately compromising the dependability of the generator. Therefore, understanding the characteristics and implications of eccentricity faults in generator air gaps is imperative. Early detection and mitigation of these faults are essential to minimize the adverse effects such as generator shutdowns caused by the escalation of eccentricity faults. This paper delves into the investigation of circulation properties associated with eccentricity faults in generator air gaps, aiming to provide insights into fault identification techniques and strategies for mitigating damages arising from such faults. Through a comprehensive analysis of the underlying mechanisms and effects of air gap eccentricity, this study seeks to contribute to the development of proactive measures for enhancing the operational stability and longevity of generators in various applications</p>
