Abstract

<p><em>Childhood trauma is a global public health concern, with substantial prevalence and severe consequences for mental health. This abstract summarizes the alarming statistics provided by the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding physical and sexual abuse among women and adolescents. It highlights that childhood traumas contribute significantly to psychological and neurological disorders, accounting for a substantial burden of disease worldwide. A specific focus is placed on childhood traumas' link to various mental disorders, including dissociation, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, psychotic disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, and psychosis. The abstract underlines the gravity of childhood traumas and their far-reaching implications for individuals' mental well-being.&nbsp;&nbsp; </em></p>
