Abstract

This paper examines the peculiarities and advantages of online journalism compared to print journalism. Online and print news were analyzed with respect to the direction, speed, and scope of information exchange, modes of information expression, transmission avenues, and management of information. Findings reveal that online news offers multiple directions of information exchange, operates at a faster speed, and reaches a broader audience than print news. In terms of expression, online news leverages multimedia and hypertext, while its transmission avenues are more diverse. Regarding information management, online journalism emphasizes the management of both participants and content. Overall, the study highlights the distinctive characteristics of online journalism that make it more dynamic, extensive, and versatile compared to traditional print journalism
