Abstract

This article examines Mohammad Hashim Maiwandwal’s perceptions of the great powers, specifically the United States and the USSR, and his approach to non-alignment, co-existence, world peace, and progressive democracy. Progressive democracy, a central social doctrine of Maiwandwal, reflects his worldview and understanding of international relations with the great powers. The study introduces Maiwandwal, explores his perspectives on the US and USSR, and analyzes his foreign policy toward these powers. The article concludes that Maiwandwal’s ideas and policies regarding the great powers ultimately led to his resignation and eventual death.
