Abstract

This study examines the impact of procurement sustainability policies on logistics performance in Nigeria. Employing an analytical cross-sectional and correlation research design, data were collected from business owners in ten selected logistics firms using a combination of accidental and quota sampling techniques. Out of a total sample size of 200, 196 valid responses were analyzed. Reliability testing of the instrument yielded a high consistency score of 0.955. Two research questions and hypotheses were tested using Pearson Product Moment Correlation via SPSS version 25. Findings reveal that procurement sustainability initiatives strongly correlate with logistics performance, significantly enhancing process optimization and capacity management. The study confirms that adopting sustainability-focused procurement policies improves operational efficiency and effectiveness within logistics firms. Based on these results, it is recommended that logistics management implement sustainability policy initiatives to strengthen process optimization, capacity management, and the seamless flow of products, services, and information. This study contributes to knowledge by demonstrating the critical role of policy sustainability in enhancing logistics performance.
